Where has Ozone gone?

16 Sep 2015

Ozone which acts as our protector has been unknowingly destroyed by us when we use chlorine and bromine based chemicals, namely CFCs, Halons, Methyl Bromide, Methyl Chloroform. These chemicals can be released to the atmosphere during the use or due to the leakage, when they expose with the solar radiation, they will be broken up into chlorine and/or bromine atoms. Then these atoms destroy the ozone molecules and minimize the ozone concentration until "the Ozone Hole" occurs. Consequently, lives on earth are higher exposure to the solar radiation, especially to the UVB.
